What is the difference between a certificate of habitation and the Declaration of Second Occupancy?

They are not quite the same thing. The certificate of habitation is the technical document issued by a qualified professional after checking the condition of the home. The Declaration of Second Occupancy is the administrative procedure by which successive occupation of a home is registered with the town hall. Depending on the characteristics and history of the property, we tell you which documents and which procedure apply in your case.

Do I need the Declaration of Second Occupancy to deal with the water supply?

It may be required for certain matters relating to the water supply. In those cases the technical certificate of habitation and the corresponding administrative paperwork may be needed. We look at your case and tell you what you need before the process starts.

How much does a certificate of habitation cost?

The price depends on the characteristics of the home and on whether the Declaration of Second Occupancy also needs to be filed. We give you a fixed quote before carrying out the visit.
