Putting the kitchen back at the centre

For centuries, the fire and the kitchen held a central place in the home: cooking, talking and gathering all happened around the same space.

Casa Cocina recovers this idea and adapts it to a contemporary way of living. The kitchen stops being a secondary room and becomes the element that organises the home.

Everything flows around it

Living-dining room, library and bedrooms are organised around the central core, producing visual relationships and continuous routes.

The layout sets out to establish connections from the centre of the house to all the other spaces, making circulation part of the domestic experience.

A house that grows

The proposal is set out through a modular structure that allows the house to be adapted to different briefs and needs.

The modules can be combined and added to according to the characteristics of each project, keeping a rational organisation and a defined construction system.

Prefabricated, better controlled

Modular construction makes it possible to move part of the process into the controlled setting of the workshop, rationalising manufacture, transport and assembly.

This way of building sets out to reduce uncertainty during the works and improve control over systems, timescales and finishes.

Living around what matters

Beyond its construction system, Casa Cocina puts forward a way of understanding the home: a house organised around the place where everyday life happens.

A modular architecture that brings together industrialisation, flexibility and a domestic organisation centred on people.
